teared up at the intro. Hurts more as an adult. Great character animation, especially with the animals. I appreciate the emotionally mature themes a lot. Ellie having been a zookeeper who specializes in birds is perfect for the main conflict. The dialogue is understated and it doesn't spoonfeed you or load you with quips, which is something I've been experiencing too much of with recent animated films. Russell's home situation is portrayed so subtlely.

Genuinely don't understand how this has universal acclaim. Was shocked by how terrible it was and fell asleep at an hour twenty minutes because I didn't care about anything in the movie or what was happening. Main character is a looker but i can't get over how bad this was. Will never watch again
