  Never worked. There’s decent messages along with other bright spots and Pattinson is kind of just the best there is right now. But never gave enough for me to buy into it and care about the story.

  Probably most devastating when thinking about Moonee’s story and its relation to false hope. They’re few and far between but the moments where all the lingering helplessness seems to fade, are inherently sad for that same reason. Baker does something with this that I don’t feel is as present in Anora.

  The best way a story has ever been told. Denis is such a master at his craft and every movie continues to elevate him beyond every working director. The idea almost seems impossible. Saying what you want to say here while still making a compelling story in a science fiction space. A story that at its root is far past what is happening on the screen. Looks at grief, acceptance, and celebrating great moments that we can’t overlook regardless of if the ending is hard to stomach. Paired with one of the best finales to be put to screen, this level of storytelling is unprecedented.

  Unfortunately one that might go in one ear and out the other for me, but there’s so much good here. The score bangs and the animation is different and looks great. Gets better towards the end during that final battle.
