Great directors make terrible movies. Some of the greatest directors have made mostly terrible movies. But I cannot wrap my head around the fact that Wim Wenders made this movie. The first 30-45 minutes are bad but fun to watch (so weird!). But then it gets progressively meandering and this becomes bad not fun.

Runaway Jury 2003
This is corny/simplistic, but maybe in the ways an early-aughts Grisham adaptation should be. Watching Hoffman and Hackman go toe-to-toe is so fun, and (spoiler alert) sometimes it's fun to watch the "good guys" win

I suppose there isn't any hard and fast rule that says if you name your movie after a character, that character should be explored in depth but... i feel a bit cheated here that we know so little about Anora. The movie relies on Mikey Madison's (great) performance to tie everything together, and it really left me wanting more complexity and an emotional core.
