In its initial set up director Walter Salles’ 2024 political drama “I’m Still Here” is eerily reminiscent of Director Lynne Littman’s 1983 film “Testament”.  Two completely different circumstances that feature an actress in a commanding lead performance as the matriarchal head of a family.  Both suffering the unexplainable loss of a husband.  Both Oscar nominated performances, one for Fernanda Torres the other for Jane Alexander.
