If I were to rate the first half of the movie, I would give it a 4/5. However, as I watched the second half, it felt empty and propagandist. It’s hard to tell whether it is a Holocaust movie, a story about a successful Jewish architect making his mark in the world, or just an empty portrayal of the conflict between two religious groups. Normally, I would rate it a 2, but Adrien Brody’s Oscar-worthy performance makes it better, making me settle on a 3.
