Genuinely enjoyed this it's a cute charming film.
It has deep flaws like the hideous dwarf designs that go deep into uncanny valley and Gal Gadot still can't emote to save her life. But the films charm and earnestness won me over and Rachel Zegler is an absolute star. She just steals the show and is so effortlessly charming and does such a great job in belting out these new songs.

The new songs are pretty catchy which isn't too…

    Lifeless dull affair.
Which is a shame as I love the concept behind it but it's wasted on this. Best part of the film is hearing the Flaming Lips haha and yes it is that song. But yeah this film is absolutely shameless with its needledrops.

There's some pretty visuals which is to be expected with it's insane $320 million budget. But that means nothing when the story holding it all together is so dull and forgettable.

You're better off watching Tales from the Loop if you want to see Simon Stålenhag done right.

    The substance was absolutely glorious.
Campy demented body horror in the best way possible
Non stop reactions from the crowd at the State theatre haha. Could not stop laughing at just how wild and bloody this film went. Freaking loved it.

That was a pretty bleak depressing watch haha.
It's quite the harrowing watch and can at times feel like misery heaped upon misery. It teeters on the edge of collapsing in on itself but fantastic performances and direction help elevate certain issues with the story.

Gorgeously shot in black in white. Magnus von Horn creates some striking shots along with a brooding score that cranks up the tension and uneasiness. Makes certain scenes feel like a nightmare come to life.

The production design is incredible too. This film just looks and feels grimy.
