  Great thriller, high stakes, high tension, you never know where the story goes and what the next thing will be that the characters admit to each other. So far the only film I’ve seen at Berlinale that I’d comfortably recommend to friends who aren’t big on film. Also, what a great finale.

  Dune: Part Two 2024

  The good: As a fan of the books I couldn’t have asked for a better adaptation. The liberty taken with the material has some impact on the story but makes perfect sense within the scope of the film, and the material is elevated by powerful creative choices across all filmmaking departments. 

  The bad: The pacing isn’t as phenomenal as Dune: Part One’s and the script is not as strong. For non-book readers a rewatch of Part One is recommended (but…
