If there was ever a perfect film, this is it.

You can watch this 20 times and still find a hidden gem of a detail that breathes more life into the movie. Weir’s directing is unleashed and delicately controlled at the same time.

Dare I say, this is one of my favorites, ever.

This is why people love movies.

Such raw energy, attention to detail, incredible performances, break-neck cinematography, needle drops that knock your socks off.

    Wow. 5 stars. Easily.

Every once in a while a film comes along that perfectly incapsulates a historical time period, almost to the extent that you feel as if a time traveling documentarian had secretly recorded it. Other movies have achieved this historical ultra-realism (Bergman’s “The Virgin Spring” or Anderson’s “There Will Be Blood”), but there is perhaps no instance in which a time piece has produced such raw and harrowing terror as with “Come and See”. Sure, “Schindler’s List’s” portrayal of the Holocaust…

I would normally say that I have a pretty high threshold for which movies actually offend me.

Brett Ratner’s “Red Dragon” is a deeply offensive movie.

As a stand alone film, it’s just a bland and average thriller. But if you’ve read the novel on which it was based, you’ll share in my utter disappointment. “Red Dragon” the novel is hands down the scariest book I’ve ever read. I’ve never encountered a more chilling depiction of a serial killer. This movie is a joke, and it should be considered heresy against what could’ve been a better film than “Silence of the Lambs.” This one hurt.
