I would normally say that I have a pretty high threshold for which movies actually offend me.
Brett Ratner’s “Red Dragon” is a deeply offensive movie.
As a stand alone film, it’s just a bland and average thriller. But if you’ve read the novel on which it was based, you’ll share in my utter disappointment. “Red Dragon” the novel is hands down the scariest book I’ve ever read. I’ve never encountered a more chilling depiction of a serial killer. This movie is a joke, and it should be considered heresy against what could’ve been a better film than “Silence of the Lambs.” This one hurt.
