    I thought this was a very cinematically stylistic film with an interesting story to it. I didn’t fully grasp the major themes of identity and nostalgia until a bit later on. I thought the pacing was a bit slow at times and could have been more clear. I thought it was a good visual film, but storytelling wise it got a bit confusing to me. I like the message that it has for the trans and queer community, I just think that after the fact I had to see that and understand it.

    I went back to watch this nostalgic classic for shits and giggles to start the weekend off right. I also had the song “One Jump Ahead” in my head and had to entertain the intrusive thought that told me to watch the movie that night. What else can I say that hasn’t already been said? Aladdin has more swagger and rizz than I remember (like he is hot AND considerate AND respectful). He really gave off the lover boy energy…

    So basically Japanese Oppenheimer? I need to finish watching it in full but this man just wanted to build planes (war planes specifically) and is voiced by Joseph Gordon Levitt?! How could I possibly hate Jiro despite the real life events that are reflected in this movie. I like the animated dream sequences with the Italian plane engineer. They added some lighthearted energy too. The score is also so comforting, like a warm hug.

    Robert Pattinson shows his versatility in this role and shines! The story is so gripping and truly confronts the questions about death and the personal and moral ethics about self concept and identity in cloning personalities. Who is the true self really? Mark Ruffalo is hilarious in this as well. I think he took inspiration from a certain current politician that really drove his character forward comedically and diabolically.
