There's a few really great shots here for the time, but a lot of the movie is rambling and generic. Probably could've been 30 minutes shorter and told the exact same story.

The Karate Kid Part III 1989
Feels like they lost the plot a little bit. Rehashing old story beats without really doing anything new. Still not a bad watch, but indicative that it was time to end the series.

Dune: Part Two 2024
Denis Villeneuve is officially one of the greatest directors of all time. The vision him and his team brought to this film (and its predecessor) is beyond anything anyone else is currently doing in the space. The impressive sense of scale is matched only by their attention to detail. In every scene I can feel the weight of history as the Dune saga begins to form. If they can stick the landing, perhaps it will sit in the pantheon of film fiction sagas with Star Wars and the The Lord of The Rings.

Barbie 2023
Stunning sets and performances from Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. If they don't do one of these musical numbers at the Oscars I'm going to be pissed.
Also not really part of the movie, but I can't understate the fact that I saw this in theaters on its 2nd weekend and it was fully packed with almost everyone dressing up like Barbie/Ken. Haven't seen this level of cultural impact on how people experience coming to the movies maybe ever. Amazing stuff.
