  Schlock snobs seem to have a tough time with this one--maybe it's because it was shot with a sharp eye for color and composition, but not with grit or realism. It's not the Babadook. It's not cheap camp, guerrilla trash, or wall to wall winking references. It's professional and intentional, while also being wildly silly.

  I had a blast with this one. They had the guts to go all out with every bit of it. This movie is its own thing.
