A beautiful film about family, trauma, and mortality. In a world where spinoff films are simply a means for consistent revenue for studios, Puss In Boots: The Last Wish chooses to tell a heartwarming and touching story. Excellent performances from Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, as well as the rest of the cast. There is no magic lost in this far far away tale.

Some of my favorite movies based on wars tend to be the anti-war ones and this one absolutely knocks it out of the park.
Everything about this film is meant to feel industrial. Everything is simply a cog in this much larger machine. There are no heroes, no villains, only victims. A machine that squeezes every last bit of you till there is nothing left and then spits you out. Edward Berger set out to paint a brutal and unforgiving picture of what WWI felt like and he does so flawlessly with this film.

Got to see a 4D viewing of this. I will say that the 4D is EXTREMELY optional. Where something like The Batman fully used the 4D to immerse the viewer into the world of Gotham to go with rain effects, wind, high speed chases, Scream sees it as a tool to add on to jumpscares and heighten some of the violence in the film. Have to note that I viewed a special edit of this on Youtube that combined the George A. Romero's theatrical cut with Dario Argento's European cut, as well as the Extended Cut into one package.
