The First Omen 2024
Icky, not scary and adds nothing of value to the Omen story. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: the Catholic Church is the bad guy! I’ve got to stop seeing these types of movies, they’re never any good. Nell Tiger Free is great tho.

The Fall Guy 2024
2024’s “Hooper.” Like that 1978 misguided tribute to stuntmen, it’s less a movie than a filmed document of people having fun making a “movie.” There were enough fun and funny moments (like those involving the unicorn) that I was at times distracted from the “movie’s” lazy self awareness and fundamental insipidity. Featuring one of the most overtly tacked on “how can we make this spectacular” Salieri climaxes that is neither funny nor thrilling. Most irritating was the ultra-broad acting which reached hammy heights in Hannah Waddingham’s obviously bewigged producer character.
