Shoplifters 2018
A family met by accidents, and their bonds glued together through unfortunate incidents.
Shoplifters with it's amazing screenplay introduces us to various characters in a small traditional korean house surrounded with urban modern buildings. Koreeda explores the family dynamism and questions the patrilineal/matrilineal blood relations in a free urbanized democratic world.
The Background score was quite amazing with a stellar performance from all the cast members, especially from the small girl.

Yi Yi 2000
Edward Yang, Master of writing and capturing human relations.
Yi Yi, a movie revolving around jian family members, and their struggles. The slow cinematography which is yang's trademark will make you fall in love with the film and the characters which will make you laugh, cry, contemplate and sometimes even can stunned you.
Love, jealously, past, future, relations, life. Yang's masterpiece touches myriad of topics, beautifully and poetically with a touch of innocence towards life."I tell her the same things…

Fireworks 1997
Hana-bi, a meditative contemplation on love and violence.
Hana-bi, communicates through the silences. A contemplative gaze into the character's sombre, bleak, and preoccupied mind. It communicates through the rich-colored paintings, eye-alluring landscapes, and the bloodbath of violence.
Hana-bi is simple story of a retribution of a cop, yet it is so poetic. It trangresses the medium of storytelling in such a rich, beautiful, and melancholic way that a simple retribution is turned into some mystical journey.
