Family.
That has always been a core theme of this franchise. Going from a ragtag team of mercenaries in the first film to an unlikely, yet loving, family throughout the following movies, that one theme continues strong in the final installment of the trilogy.
The way James Gunn navigates this theme among others such as animal cruelty, is truly masterful. A lot of the topics explored in the film are emotionally charged and intense, yet Gunn is able interject comedy…

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts 2023
A solid entry for a franchise that has the highs of huge mechanical aliens fighting each other with cool weapons… and the lows of uninteresting human characters who take up too much screen time. At this point you know what you’re getting with these movies, it’s a decent action flick that you can stuff your face with popcorn with while watching. The maximals were cool additions, and the ending showed some potential for an interesting future film, but beyond that this film didn’t stray too far from the already familiar transformers formula.
