  this movie surprised me way more than i expected for a classic christmas romcom . 

  highlights include: 
  - a christmas ball (nyc drag queen ball)
  - a lot of pentatonix and acapella songs 
  - good chemistry 
  - two really likable characters 

  actually, everybody in this movie was likable . it was really fun and cozy to watch. exactly what i look for in a holiday romcom 

  should i watch this ?

  boomers terrorizing gen x who learned that “taking it” and silently enduring toxic environments is emotional safety who have a millennial child who is the first one to try to be healthy (claire danes character goes to therapy in 10 years ) and then the main character victimizes herself and tells all her friends she can’t understand why her child went no contact 

  should i watch this? 
  yes, especially if you want to watch the family stone . DONT, and watch this instead

  this semi charming movie rife with misogyny and outdated moments is very much of its time. 

  4 straight white dudes with frat-like mindsets who see women as something to be conquered, negged, made fun of, or f*cked all fall in love with 1 woman. who’s importance is clarified because she’s some important dudes daughter. 

  since women only have value when their proximity to a respected man compels it. 

  there are moments of growth and once u stop being annoyed at a movie from 1999, it’s cute. 

  should i watch this? 
  yes, specifically for SATC fans

  Must Love Dogs 2005

  this movie is terrible and the only redeeming factor is it’s cool to see a leading actress in a romcom with her natural face (this must be pre Botox pressure time for leading ladies, no shade to Botox). 

  The terrible things - weird/religious(??) slut shaming, John cusack NOT being charming, pro-marriage, pro-monogamy, families having no boundaries, male friends of John cusacks character being super misogynistic, ageism

  The good things- stockard channing is in it, which is why this movie gets 2 stars instead of 1 star 

  
  Should i watch this?
  No, watch “how to lose a guy in 10 days” for the millionth time instead
