a man feels responsible to the pain and death that is dealt to the people around him, yet he feels powerless. he feels emotions can’t help this situation, so he ignores them and tries to buy as much time as he can to ease the pain of the people he loves.
love, compassion, hopelessness, suicidal thoughts, are all conveyed without dramatic emotional outbursts, but through displays of quiet, melancholic acceptance. these slow “in-between” moments offer a relatable window into the pain and loneliness of loss.
