This incarnation of the Bat Man has a lot going for it. The Gotham environment -- the streets, the bars, the diners -- felt edgy, real, and lived-in. Batman felt appropriately young and inexperienced, but driven and obsessive. The action was close-in and a bit brutal. The casting and performances were solid. Nope 2022
While Jordan Peele's filmmaking skills continue to grow (dare I say he has a Spielberg-esque feel to the way he tells stories), this isn't my favorite movie. It felt a bit detached (maybe I was catching some of Daniel Kaluuya's character's vibe) and a core part of the movie - the allegory - was a bit weak. Unlike some B-level action/horror movies, I'm not sure this will be worth a rewatch just for the adventure.

Everything Everywhere All at Once 2022
This is one of the most imaginative and original films of the past couple of years. It wraps a wild, anarchic, silly humor around a complex, sincere, moral core. It is an amazing experience. This one really hit the sweet spot for me - a visually stunning, philosophical, kind-hearted exploration of what it means to be human.
