The Color of Pomegranates 1969
I was going to give this 3 stars as it's a visually stunning film. I went into it having no idea what it was about and I still am not totally sure even after some googling.
What I can't stomach though is animal cruelty and this film has quite a bit. It's never needed. And the final straw was the end when they torture chickens. Hence only 1 1/2 stars. It's a shame as the effort that has gone into making these "Tableau vivant" is quite astonishing.Translated from by -
My Old Ass 2024
2 and half stars because the setting and filming were good. The storyline is a tale as old as time if you happen to be a lesbian. " You just haven't met the right man yet" Bisexuality is under represented in movies and needs far more. This however isn't it.
Also she falls in love with the guy in about 22 days.

Three Colours: Blue 1993
Film wise it's beautiful to watch but the story left me a little cold. Maybe that was intentional but I didn't feel a connection with any of the characters, would have been an extra half a star but I wasn't a fan of the mice scene.
