as a major bong head this was a minor disappointment. draggy at times, and while there were nice surprising narrative beats the macro plot was kinda rote.
great work from the cast, I could watch toni and mark fuck around all day. same with rob and rob.

I thought that narratively, dramatically, artistically, this was silly. but it looks good, the music is good, the performances are good. I find it kind of annoying that that’s enough to basically make it good.
while I don’t believe that all the music performances were live like they’re claiming for the oscars narrative, the playing all looks great.
if this was about my friends nothing bad would happen and it would be called buddies buddies buddies
