Sputnik 2020
Definitive hidden gem. Tucked down in the depths of Netflix I found this Russian sci-fi horror. A unique premise with a great score and some excellent VFX, it’s a gripping watch. Personally didn’t mind the pace of it, but could understand if some would struggle to stay engaged through middle periods. The ending lands and includes a simple but satisfying twist. 4 stars for being genuinely memorable.

Squid Game 2021
Watched this one as a house. Visually fantastic and a great premise make this a good ride but some of the hype is a little over the top. It’s too long (could easily have been a feature film instead) and we managed to predict a few of the twists. It’s still a memorable watch and Episode 6 in particular had us all over the place.
