was kinda surprised i hadnt heard of this considering the good reviews it has on here, now i know why. boring and uninteresting. politics is far less dramatic and more mundane than this film depicts, and movies which work through the subtleties of that are far more entertaining. chastains character is basically like the benedict cumberbatch sherlock except as a girlboss lobbyist.

The French Revolution: Years of Rage 1989
As a film, this isn't anything too special. The cinematography is fairly flat, the score is forgettable and nothing too crazy happens. In many ways it feels like an old 70s BBC production. Much of the plot of the first part is spent jumping from historical set pieces and events, spaced out by conversations between the main actors. The average viewer would probably easily be overwhelmed by the sheer number of characters and events that occur, often with little explanation.…
