I think it may have been assumed that 'sexy' and British were interchangeable because in no world was it the former. Action deprived, humour deprived; the performances saved this from being a complete disaster, but ultimately I was confused (bored?) by the oddly paced narrative and its you-had-to-have-been-there dialogue - a script with verbal concentrate should really concentrate on just that.
Soderbergh nearly didn't make this film… perhaps his gut didn't speak up loud enough on second thought.
