A Happy Day 2023
A remote institution for refugee/asylum seeking children, who will be deported the day they turn 18, should not be a happy setting. But the humanity, humor, and touches of magical realism twists this tale into something that may not be entirely devoid of hope. I see traces of Waiting For Godot, Logan’s Run, and the visuals of Simon Stålenhag.
