i was in tears by the end. what a heartbreaking and poignant portrait of girlhood. toni colette and parker posey in particular have some really sublime moments. i’ll be thinking about them and this film for a long time.

parker posey down bad for a french man? we hate to see it. her acting was so heartfelt. her anxiety and loneliness throughout was palpable. i don't think i've ever seen someone make smoking a cigarette and drinking a red wine simultaneously look miserable yet so appealing. gena rowlands as her mama! drea de matteo as her best friend! a quiet film about longing for love and i liked it.
