Deadpool served his purpose as a foil to the self righteousness that modern superhero movies possessed. His sarcastic tones, off color jokes and slap stick humor was compelling when all an audience could view was gravitas of RDJ and Chris Evans. Each who played the character’s everso selfishly as if it were a Shakespearean tragedy not a paperback with pictures.
