  Whoopi Goldberg is really good in this. So is the clay. And the interior design is to die for. Everything else is kinda meh. I was hoping this would at least be sexy, but it really wasn’t. Sad!

  Gothic horror as it should be: dark and sumptuous, like a black velvet noose. 

  Lily-Rose Depp has studied Butoh, and it shows. Willem Defoe is very fun to watch; I almost wish he had been on-screen even more than he was. Not enough people are praising Simon McBurney for his turn as the mad occultist, Knock (Dracula’s Renfield). 

  The Herzog version is still better, as he handles the plague in a much eerier way (and has a better ending). I…
