M. Night Shyamalan learned how to make a movie again! This movie would probably suck if Josh Hartnett weren't the lead, but his performance is genuinely funnier than most current Netflix standup specials. The plot is certainly far-fetched and the twists are undeniably stupid, but in the same way Hartnett's Cooper masks his serial killer persona to the world around him, Shyamalan hides the holes in his thriller by unabashedly relishing in the genre's cliches with a high level of self-awareness.
