Poor Things 2023
Visually stunning and very cool world building, strong acting performances, but the issue of consent with someone mentally a child was just too weird/didn’t add anything to the film for me. The section w the ex husband felt totally unnecessary? Maybe I just missed the point but idk. Felt like a lot of fuss to say only a little. The scene with the slums though was remarkable and one of the few times in the film where I felt the shock value achieved what it aimed to highlight.
