I'm so sorry to my work friend who suggested this one to me as part of an intro to sapphic films I hadn't seen yet. I wanted to enjoy it but this was awful; less "camp" and more "clunk", and felt just kind of meandering with no clear goals in mind for the characters or for the story they were trying to tell. And then just as things finally got interesting, the movie just abruptly ends on kind of a bummer note??

estrogen wouldn't have saved her, in fact it would have made things worse. that being said, Ben Affleck is serving insane autistic tgirl swag in this movie. And honestly probably the most normal/positive explicit autism rep I've seen in a movie period (it does befall some Autism Super Powers™ tropes but it's okay this time because I thought it was cool actually)
