  i appreciate demi trying to shed light on this issue, however, i believe that alyson stoner’s youtube series Dear Hollywood really covers the topic in a more detailed and mindful way. the series covers the psychology of child stardom - i highly recommend it!

  i also agree with other reviewers that:

  (1) the folks interviewed were so interesting and weren’t given nearly enough screen time

  (2) the film glossed over film studios’ and parents’ roles in the commodification of children.

  i can appreciate this film as demi’s reflection, but it could’ve done so much more to tackle the issue.
