Another great movie and a good ending (maybe?) to the series. Captain Salazar and his crew are another great example of the CGI character design in this series. I think Davy Jones is still my favorite looking character however Salazar does come up very close. There is a lot of character development in this movie and it’s cool to see the characters recognizing where they fit in the story.

Although not a part of the original trilogy, this film is a great continuation of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Captain Jack has many enemies in this film but of course comes out on top as he always does. His miraculous escapes from otherwise impossible scenarios are always entertaining, with one of my favorites examples being in the beginning of this film. It does suck to lose Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann in this film as well as the following, but Angelica and the mermaids make up for the eye-candy factor of Elizabeth Swann.

This film perfectly concludes the original trilogy of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. The journey between the overworld and Davy Jones’ locker is thrilling and suspenseful, and reveals a lot of internal conflict amongst the main characters who previously believed they all had the same goals at heart. The war at the end of this film between the Brethren Court and the East India Trading Company sparks a lot of character development from many of the main characters.

The worst film of the first three but still a great watch. This may be Johnny Depp’s funniest movie as Jack Sparrow, especially on the island of the native Pelegostos tribe when he claims he is a god trapped in human form. The introduction of Davy Jones and his undead crew is one of the greatest and probably my favorite display of CGI when it comes to character design. The plot of this film is fairly boring but the visuals are stunning. Hans Zimmer’s score in this film is just a masterpiece.
