Boys State 2020
I can’t recommend this enough. Even if you can’t relate to going to Boys State, the story it tells is so poignant and insightful of how human nature plays into politics through the lens of teenage boys in Texas. It’s cringy, frightening, wildly dramatic, and yet left me hopeful that there are good and powerful voices in Gen Z leading the future of our political system. It also It won the grand jury prize and Sundance this year.

First Reformed 2017
I’ll be the first to say this movie will not sit well for most viewers. It is an unconventional spiritual and contemplative drama, far from blockbuster entertainment and more poetry than prose. I can’t stop thinking about it.
