    This is absolutely not a movie for me.

    Just a tired plod of a film. The script and tone are the main issues here. I just don’t want… campy slapstick horror splatter.

    And I feel like there’s a REAL bait and switch with this film, based on at least the first trailer. Creepy toy monkey, darkness, James Wan, director of Long Legs. Based on that, you wouldn’t expect THIS.

    I think the performances are fine and some of the kills…

    On first watch, this film disappointed me. But after my second viewing and considering it more over time, I appreciate the things it does well.

    My disappointment stemmed from this just not being as nasty and grimy as the early buzz led me to believe. For me the film’s shortcomings comes from it being more traditional than a 2024 Nosferatu film should or could be.
