The King of Comedy 1982
I had never seen Robert De Niro playing a character like this before. It was an experience and a half. I love that Rupert had a stalker buddy in Masha and showed us two sides of dangerous obsessives.

Extremely similar to the first one except with slightly better close-quarters action and way worse CGI. I was disappointed at the way it doubled down on the focus on the family unit and the “dream of Rome” theme (which is just contemporary American political platitudes with the thinnest historical veneer). Performances were decent but only Denzel Washington as Macrinus felt fresh and interesting.
