don't put politics in an evil organization bad guy plot because this is what you get. Confusing ass subtext. What so if we're supposed to take the message at face value and take this as an allegory for discrimination, any weight of the message is stamped out by the fact that KAIJIN ARE PORTRAYED AS KAIJIN as in THEY ARE BIOWEAPONS CREATED BY HUMANS.
Actual political subtext that this show tried to insert in the rider formula are completely lost…

I'd slot this in almost in the same category as Shin Godzilla. Two movies that question Japan's pacifism, and how the people that ultimately make the decisions are so removed from reality, they don't see that there's a war going on in the very city that they live in.
Optimism brings complacency, and complacency brings casualties. A story that repeats throughout history.
