  This film is gorgeous.

  The sets, the costumes, the lighting. It is one of those films that reminds me how damn good filmmaking can be, and what experts in their craft can really do with the medium. It was a delight to look at and listen to. The characters were complex and the performances were nuanced. It was also just a touch wacky and definitely surprising.

  I was delighted from start to finish.

  What the actual fuck is this movie?

  Why was it nominated? I legitimately have no idea.

  This movie was incredibly tone-deaf on the issues of sexual assault and systemic injustice that it sloppily (and half-assedly) attempts to tackle. Don't even get me started on how hard I eye-rolled during the saccharine Woody Harrelson voice-overs, or how confused I was about Peter Dinklage's presence in the film at all. Also, just what we needed, another redemption story for a racist, sexist, homophobic white man. I feel like I was supposed to be rooting for him by the end. No thank you.
