  I’m starting to consider any type of film that goes completely differently than i initially imagined to be its own genre these days. This film is a roller coaster as what it is being shown to be is nothing like what it ends in. That final scene perfectly encapsulates what it fees like to live in this time and era of over communication that leads to nowhere.

  Don’t know why i never left a review on this but this easily one of my favorite films all time. The brutality of it within its juxtaposition of being a dark fairy tale really does a number on the audience and our main protagonist.

  This film is not for the faint of heart and for all of the brutality, it’s what is implied that is always harsher than what is shown on screen. And this film does an elite job…

  Holy shit y’all: i was not ready for how fucking hilarious this movie was. I can’t give it a five yet because i feel some recency bias given ive watched and rewatched “Massacre at Central High,” “But I’m a Cheerleader,” “Heathers” and “Mean Girls.” All classics within a genre that can feel cliche.

  And this is where Buttoms EXCELS: it not only leans into its absurdity but it plans hilarious homage to its source materials by being clever and honest…

Following
