sweet! & delightful to see baby tina desai and dev patel. the way this movie handled race/colonialism was. uncomfortable. but i have yet to see a white ppl movie set in india that isn't DX at least literally all the actors are excellent and play off each other so well

great acting and costumes but it feels like every other lesbian period movie: quiet and bleak. give me more of the sunshine they bring into each other's lives! you could fill all the pregnant pauses and meaningful eye contact with more dirty limericks, maybe that could form a contrast and make the sad part mean something. can't fault the desaturated color grading tho, that's just how england looks.
