That Christmas follows the interconnected lives of the townspeople of British seaside town, Wellington-on-sea, as they muddle through a chaotic christmas. Richard Curtis is no stranger to interweaving stories together, and his not so subtle nod to the Love Actually counterpart will undoubtedly draw in the biggest laugh. The story focuses on familiar themes of Curtis: hardship, heartbreak, and loneliness but this time, everyone is granted a neatly tied up resolution for a sweet, although somewhat simplistic, festive story.
