The Brutalist 2024
The 2nd half of this movie is a nonstop 100mph bombardment of the weirdest, bizarre, most out of pocket scenes imaginable. Weird time skips, strange editing, and the wildest possible left turns all the way until the epilogue which I don’t think I understood at all.
I think I kinda loved it and weirdly want to rewatch this 3.5 hour movie immediately.

Delivers on a semi disturbing, slow burn, drama that in actuality is a commentary on Chinese society. The multiple scenes framed as though they were through a microscope very clearly demonstrate that we are looking at a cell (or this single family unit) to find the problems that are affecting the whole. Even more obviously shown during the climax where the cars in China’s streets are shown as blood cells. Each one containing a family closed off from one another…
