  A little all over the place, but the whole thing is damn impressive. I was giggling a bit at Griffith’s thesis that when women get old and ugly before they’ve found a man, they go on to become hypocritical moral crusaders.

  The Vaginoplasty song is actually one of the major highlights of the film. It's quite fun! I didn't think this was all that bad, but didn't think it was all that great either. There's an incredibly dark irony to a story about a villain faking their death and then reappearing as a new person who is revered as a martyr, but there's such a balancing act of tone shifts required and Jacques Audiard doesn't quite pull it off.
