Good representation for suburban Jewish guys of average intelligence who are both alienated from and enamored with normie goyim.

Several days after we watched this movie, my girlfriend looks up at me at the dinner table and says, “I can’t stop thinking about Howard Hughes.”

In the scene where Alana is at the Tail o’ the Cock with movie star William Holden, 15-year-old Gary Valentine speaking authoritatively to the head waiter, referring to the restaurant as “[his] place” and demanding a specific table by number because of its “sight line,” the waiter calling him “Mr. Gary” and granting his request in a desperate attempt to placate him, as if this pimply adolescent is, like, a mob boss prone to explosive outbursts of anger…just an indescribably good bit. This movie rules.

Thought about doing a joke review along the lines of, “This movie goes DEEP 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣” But also wanted to share some earnest thoughts, because I really loved it. Beautiful, precise, slow cinema. Brilliant play with scale. So many wide open landscapes in which human beings look minuscule relative to the mountains and the sky that surround them (and the deep chasm of nothingness that exists below them).

Images and sounds that struck me in particular: -The close-up on the pulsing vein…
