  Still not sure quite what all the fuss was about: it seems a perfectly strong if not adequate monologue play. The end has an emotional kick and it all ties together well, symbolism and all but I feel it’s brilliance might be down primarily to Andrew Scott.

  This just lurches from one over-played, over-the-top, over-hyped horror routine to the other without much coherence or any real consistency. There are some creepy moments but generally it’s pretty unoriginal and uninventive. It’s also deeply disconcerting how the male gaze can still be adopted when presenting us with a child who starts the film by buying tampons for the first time.   Kenneth Branagh doing a satirical piss-take of Kenneth Branagh is the only time I can condone Kenneth Branagh.

Following
