I hate this film.
Not only is it bad, it's damaging to cinema. It's a cheap mess that relies entirely on fan service and fake outs to give the illusion of stakes without ever actually having the balls to kill off anyone in case someone on 4chan gets mad.
From the unexplained and unnecessary return of Palpatine, to the worse version of the Endgame portal scene; this is a film that if not for it's great music and effects, as well as some good performances when you consider the circumstances, would be a one star film.
A feel good romp that isn't scared to address the darkness of its subject while also showing us the pure beauty of humanity no matter where it lies.
The cast is amazing, I was a little scared Hitler would be purely there for comedy but Watiti was clever to remember he's actually a real bad bloke.
Johansson nails the role and delivers some of the best moments in the film.
