Loved the style, score, costumes and slickness of it all but some movies are naturally suited to a 90 minute run time, this isn’t, and it made it harder to absorb the reveals later on because it’s all so damn fast. Also just found all the espionage stuff a bit flat compared to all the GREAT relationship stuff between all the spies. Always love a bit of the Fass and Marisa Abela carried.

Left a bit to be desired for me in the end from a plot perspective, but I admire the style and what it was attempting.

After the overwhelmingly negative reception for this I was surprised by how many genuinely solid ideas it presents and it’s actually quite fun once Malkovich goes full camp and the genre stuff becomes more prominent, first half is so slow and uneventful though that it nearly lost me.

The thing that mainly saved this is how interesting some of the horror direction is, the way the horror introduces itself in certain scenes genuinely surprised me with its creativity. Ayo also was pretty solid in a horror role, she pulls great scared faces. Just about won me over in the end.

Fuck, Fuck, Fuck. This is automatically in the top five things I’ve ever seen in any form of media. Jodie Comer is the best actress working today, no doubt. Any top director would be fucking crazy not to be writing her a lead role right now. She sells every single emotion she needs to, dramatic but every line feels natural and she had every single audience member in tonights sold out screen in the palm of her hand. She is…

Easily the worst film I’ve watched this year. After about ten minutes I realised that I’m so bored of these indestructible mean old men action movies and sulked through the rest of it. Just a lifeless imitation of great action movies (John wick, fury road) and it’s just not fun watching this emotionless piece of cardboard as an action lead. The dire pace of this drains any form of immersion as well. Absolute dire slog.
