  Ti West’s multi-genre pastiche arrives at its messy conclusion(?) with the charming Maxxxine. Not the adjective I thought I was gonna use but here we are. This movie isn’t lacking for ideas, borrowed style, and references but somewhere along the line it loses the personality and ambition of the first two entries.   I guess this is a good movie but I don’t know man. It wasn’t what I expected or wanted at the end of the day. Tashi is a boring character who zendaya is occasionally able to make interesting. The boys fare much better and are allowed to build real chemistry with each other, which zendaya isn’t able to do with either of them.
