On a very short list of films where I spent the runtime feeling smug about having correctly guessed the twist ending in scene 1, my suspicions cemented with each evasion and misdirection that followed. (It's this and The Sixth Sense, basically.)
A rewatch should be doubly redundant, then, even a full 27 years later. And it sort of was, but between the comfort of the familiar and the surprise of, well, familiar faces I'd completely forgotten were in this (Sutherland! Gandolfini! Turturro!), the two hours and four minutes sailed by.

So, moving images are a thing. Half-hearted initial feints towards saying anything beyond this, or anything of substance about anything at all (the Lumieres! Melies! The Nazis! Uh, fake news and stuff?) quickly give way to the kind of aimless surf through contemporary socmed content you could easily recreate (and improve on, as per taste) at home. Born on YouTube, never should've left.
