  works on every single level… this is one of the few films i’ve seen that properly depicts m. scott peck’s definition of love, i.e., none of these characters are doing things out of self-interest. it’s pretty much all about service that stems from choice and free will, not determinism or fate. also, damn, the human spirit really is the strongest thing ever!
