“While a picture may be worth a thousand words, a soundscape is worth a thousand pictures,” says Bernie Krause. That saying really moved me. This film is incredibly deep—beautifully crafted. I’m fascinated by the world of sound and its significance, not just in cinema but also in conveying truths about our changing world. Visuals can capture detail, but they’re limited to what can be seen; sound goes beyond optics. It’s heartbreaking how rapidly our ecology is changing, and Bernie’s work documents this transformation. I’m now more interested in the field of soundscape than ever before.

Incredible documentary. Incredible life journey of Lhakpa Sherpa. So dramatic life. Inspiring.
Watching Jia Zhangke is not watching his films but experiencing the style of his filmmaking. It's like a movie journey but also going through multiple emotions at once. There are very few directors that I find cathartic watching the film, Jia is one of them. Characters don't tell their dream, or their moral goal what drives them, but it is felt and it is interesting to watch how they fail, change over time, and realize.
